What?
Market Baskets are Ideal for 2-4 people for the week, approx. 20 pounds of produce
The Growing Power Market Basket is a cross between a mobile grocery store and a community supported agriculture program (CSA). The produce comes from local farms and from small-scale wholesalers, offering us the freshest produce we can find!
When?
Sign up: Online before Wednesday night
Pick up: Friday at 3:00 - 4:30 pm, Mondays 6:30-8
Where? The Crossing (1127 University Avenue # 4 Madison, WI 53715)
Enter through the front doors facing University Avenue, take the first door on your left, walk down the stairs and into the first door on the right. Brian will be there with your fresh basket! If you have any problems feel free to call Brian at (608-712-4310)
Why? As many of you are probably aware, our current food system makes unhealthy calories cheaper than healthy ones! This has forced a lot of people with low income, including students living on a tight budget, to make unhealthy eating choices.
If you're frustrated with the cost of healthy fruits and vegetables, be frustrated no more! You can have a basket of fresh healthy produce each week for ONLY $16.00!

The purpose of the Market Basket is first and foremost to provide AFFORDABLE and nutritionally diverse produce to the consumer. Second, by purchasing a basket you are helping to empower local and distant sustainable urban and rural farmers who are a part of Will Allen's Rainbow Cooperative.
If you're interested in getting one, you have the ability, unlike in a CSA, to decide week to week whether you would like to buy a basket or not! Sign up by Wednesday of each week and get your food on Friday!
Up until the end of the growing season all the food is local, coming from Badger Rock Middle School South Madison gardens and Robert Pierce's Farm!
It's great to share with some other people!
